New page

The guild normally runs a 4-week trial for new members. This may be longer or shorter if the officer team feels they have seen enough information to decide or feels someone needs more time. We will usually aim to give feedback halfway through the normal trial period (at the end of the second week) and will communicate if a trial is being extended. We may run a longer trial if you join the guild at an unusual time, e.g. during a raiding break, or very late farm where bosses are killed quickly and in a single day.

If a trial is passed, the player will be promoted to raider. If it is failed, assuming good conduct, they will usually be demoted to social and will be welcome to remain in the guild in that capacity.

== What to expect ==

You should expect to be treated like a raider for the duration of the trial period. Ultimately, to assess you, we need to see you play and interact with the guild, so expect to be heavily rostered. We do not specifically deprioritise trials on loot, though will consider reliability when making loot decisions, for which trials are generally an unknown quantity. Nonetheless, trials can expect to be roughly equivalent with raiders in terms of loot priority.

We recognise that it takes a bit of time to get used to a new raiding environment – which is why our standard trial is a relatively long 4 weeks. In our experience, this is plenty of time for someone to get used to the guild and start performing to their normal level. This also gives us enough time to assess social fit, which is important to us.

== What should I prioritise? ==

We will make a holistic assessment of our trialling members, considering quality of play, mechanical performance, throughput, social fit, preparedness, reliability, attendance, etc. As a rule, we suggest that you focus on mechanical play far more than throughput, as raids in TWW tend to have tight performance checks but light throughput checks. Don’t try too hard to fit in – have fun chatting on discord, but don’t overdo it when you don’t really know people yet.
